Policy Overview

How Returns Work at Your Hair And Wig

We want every wig, hair weave, extension, or hair care item you order to feel right the moment it arrives. If a product doesn't work out — the wrong shade, an unexpected fit, or simply a change of mind — you may request a return within 30 calendar days of the delivery date shown on your shipping confirmation, provided the item meets the eligibility and condition requirements explained below.

This Return & Refund Policy applies to every order placed on yourhairandwig.com, our Shopify-powered storefront based in Boynton Beach, Florida, USA and serving customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. It works alongside our Shipping Policy, Terms of Service, Billing & Payment Policy, and Privacy Policy.

The 30-day window below is our own store policy and is offered as a benefit to every customer, in every country we serve. It sits on top of, and never replaces, the statutory consumer rights you already have under the law of your own country — those rights are explained in full in Section 9, and nothing in this policy limits, excludes, or overrides them. Because human hair, synthetic hair, and scalp-contact products are personal-care items, hygiene and safety considerations also shape several of the requirements below — please read the eligibility section carefully before submitting a return request.

Quick Reference
  • Return Window: 30 calendar days from delivery, all 6 countries
  • UK, Ireland Customers: Extra 14-day statutory cancellation right (Section 8)
  • Refund Method: Original payment method only
  • Processing Time: 5–10 business days after inspection
  • Change-of-Mind Returns: Customer pays return shipping and any customs charges
  • Our Error, Defect, or Faulty Goods: We cover return shipping and any customs charges in full
  • Statutory Rights: Never limited, excluded, or reduced by this policy

A Note on Payment Processing

Refunds are issued through Shopify Inc.'s secure payment infrastructure back to your original payment method. Your Hair And Wig reviews, approves, and initiates every refund directly; Shopify processes the transaction on our behalf and does not independently approve or deny return requests.

Before You Return an Item

Eligibility Requirements & Product Condition

To protect the hygiene, safety, and quality of every product we sell — and to be fair to all of our customers, in every country — returned items must meet the following conditions before a refund or exchange can be approved. These conditions apply to change-of-mind returns; they do not apply to faulty, damaged, or misdescribed items, which are always covered in full (see Section 6).

Unworn & Unwashed

Wigs, hairpieces, and extensions must show no sign of wear — including comb marks, scalp oils, hairspray or styling-product residue, trimmed lace, or chemical treatment. We recommend trying on wigs over a wig cap or liner and avoiding direct scalp contact until you are certain of your decision.

Original Packaging & Hygiene Liner Intact

The item must be returned in its original packaging, including the protective hygiene liner, hairnet, or inner cap it shipped with, along with any tags, care cards, or authenticity labels still attached. This "hygiene seal" requirement mirrors the sealed-goods exemption recognized under UK, Irish, and EU consumer law (see Section 8).

Within the 30-Day Window

Return requests must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the delivery date shown on your shipping confirmation email. Requests submitted after this window cannot be accepted except where required by applicable law, including the statutory rights described in Sections 8 and 9.

Proof of Purchase

A valid order number from yourhairandwig.com is required for every return. We are unable to process returns for items purchased through unauthorized resellers or third-party marketplaces.

Hygiene & Safety Notice

For health and hygiene reasons, lace front wigs, closures, and hair extensions that have been cut, colored, permed, or chemically altered in any way; that show signs of use; or that are missing the original hygiene liner cannot be accepted for a change-of-mind return under any circumstances, regardless of the 30-day window or the 14-day UK/Irish/EU cancellation right described in Section 8. This requirement protects the health and safety of all of our customers and reflects the sealed-for-hygiene-reasons exemption recognized under U.S., Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, UK, and Irish/EU consumer protection law alike. It does not apply to items that are faulty, damaged, or not as described — those are always eligible for a full remedy under Section 6, regardless of condition.

Return Process

How to Request a Return in 4 Simple Steps

We never ask customers to mail items back without authorization. This process is the same whether you're shipping from Boynton Beach or Bristol — please follow it from start to finish to ensure your return is processed smoothly.

Step 1

Contact Our Team

Email info@yourhairandwig.com or use the live chat on our website within 30 days of delivery (or within your 14-day cancellation period, if applicable — see Section 8). Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and your reason for returning.

Step 2

Receive Return Authorization

Our customer care team reviews your request against the eligibility requirements above. Once approved, we provide return instructions and a return address. For defective, damaged, incorrect, or not-as-described items we send a prepaid return label at our cost; for change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for return shipping and any customs charges, per Section 5.

Step 3

Pack & Ship the Item Back

Repackage the item securely with its original packaging and hygiene liner intact, mark the parcel clearly as a "Returned Goods" commercial sample where customs paperwork requests a description, and ship it to the address provided in your Return Authorization using a trackable shipping method.

Step 4

Inspection & Refund

Once we receive and inspect your return, we notify you of approval or rejection. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. For UK, Irish, and EU cancellations under Section 8, we refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or evidence you've shipped them), whichever is earlier.

Please Note: Do not send a return to any address on your original package without first receiving a Return Authorization from our team — packages sent without authorization may experience processing delays, may not clear customs correctly, or may not be located upon arrival.

Exclusions

Items That Cannot Be Returned for Change of Mind

For hygiene, customization, and clearance reasons, the following categories of products are final sale and are not eligible for a change-of-mind return, exchange, or refund once delivered. We list these clearly here, and they are also flagged on the relevant product pages before you complete your purchase.

Important — this exclusion list never overrides your statutory rights. If an item on this list arrives faulty, damaged, or materially different from its description, you are always entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (USA), applicable sale-of-goods legislation (Canada), the Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand), the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (Ireland), or the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) — see Section 9. A "final sale" or "no returns" label can never lawfully remove those rights in any of the six countries we serve.

  • Wigs, hairpieces, closures, or extensions that have been worn, washed, cut, colored, permed, heat-styled, or otherwise altered
  • Items missing their original hygiene liner, protective cap, hairnet, or packaging (the "hygiene seal")
  • Custom orders, including custom-colored wigs, custom-cut lace, and made-to-order density or length requests
  • Clearance, closeout, or items clearly marked "Final Sale" at checkout
  • Gift cards and store credit
  • Scalp adhesives, tapes, bonding glue, and other single-use application products once opened
  • Styling tools and accessories with visible signs of use
Refunds Explained

How and When You'll Be Refunded

Once your returned item passes inspection, we issue your refund to the original payment method used at checkout — credit card, debit card, or other method supported by Shopify's payment processor. We do not issue refunds by cash, check, or to a different card or account, consistent with the U.S. Electronic Fund Transfer Act and standard card network rules.

Refunds typically post within 5–10 business days of approval (or within 14 days for UK/Irish/EU statutory cancellations — Section 8), though your bank or card issuer may take a few additional days to reflect the funds on your statement. Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable for change-of-mind returns, except where required by law (for example, the standard delivery cost must be refunded for a UK, Irish, or EU cancellation under Section 8) or where the return results from our error or a defective item.

If only part of an order is returned, we refund the value of the returned item(s) only; shipping charges are refunded in full only when the entire order is returned, or as otherwise required under Section 8.

International orders (Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom): Where import duties, VAT, or GST were collected by us at checkout, those charges are refunded together with the item price on an approved return. Where duties, VAT, or GST were instead assessed and collected by your local customs authority upon import, those charges are the responsibility of the importer of record (you) and are not refunded by Your Hair And Wig; you may be able to reclaim them directly from your national customs or tax authority. Customer-paid return shipping and any customs charges incurred when sending the item back are the customer's responsibility for change-of-mind returns, and ours for our errors, defects, or non-conforming goods.

Exchanges

Exchanging for a Different Size, Color, or Style

Exchanges follow the same eligibility and condition requirements as returns. To request one, contact us within 30 days of delivery, ship the original item back following the return process in Section 3, and once we receive and inspect it, we will ship your replacement item.

Standard replacement shipping is free within the same country as the original order. For international exchanges (e.g., an Australian order exchanged for a different color), the replacement item may be subject to new import duties, VAT, or GST in your country, which are handled the same way as a new order.

If your replacement item carries a higher price, we will charge the difference to your original payment method; if it carries a lower price, we will refund the difference to you.

Our Responsibility

Damaged, Defective, Incorrect, or Not-as-Described Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or different from what you ordered, this is never treated as a standard change-of-mind return — it is corrected entirely at our expense, and the exclusions in Section 4 and the 30-day window do not limit your right to a remedy.

Report Promptly

Notify us within 7 calendar days of delivery at info@yourhairandwig.com with your order number and clear photos of the item and any packaging damage. UK customers have a separate 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and Irish customers a 30-day right to reject under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 — reporting sooner simply lets us help you faster.

No Cost to You

We provide a prepaid return shipping label, or reimburse reasonable return postage, for damaged, defective, incorrect, or not-as-described items — you will never be asked to pay return shipping, customs duties, or GST/VAT for our error, anywhere we ship.

Your Choice of Resolution

Choose a full refund to your original payment method, a free replacement of the same item, or store credit — whichever works best for you. Where a specific statutory remedy hierarchy applies (for example, repair or replacement first under Australian, New Zealand, UK, or Irish law — see Section 9), we will follow that sequence if you prefer to exercise your statutory right rather than our goodwill options.

This guarantee is provided in addition to, and does not limit, any rights you may have under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 2301–2312) and state law in the USA; applicable federal and provincial sale-of-goods legislation in Canada; the Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees; the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 in New Zealand; the Consumer Rights Act 2022 in Ireland; or the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the United Kingdom. See Section 9 for the full detail on each.

Before Your Order Ships

Cancelling an Order Before It Ships

If you change your mind before your order has entered our fulfillment or shipping process, contact us immediately at info@yourhairandwig.com or +1 561-810-0428. We will cancel the order and issue a full refund to your original payment method at no charge.

Once an order has shipped, it must follow the standard return process described in this policy, or the UK/Ireland/EU cancellation right in Section 8 if applicable. Custom or made-to-order items — such as custom-colored wigs or custom-cut lace — enter production quickly and may not be eligible for cancellation once production has begun; we will inform you if your order falls into this category at the time of purchase confirmation. Under U.S. law, the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 435) also entitles you to cancel and receive a prompt refund if we are unable to ship within the time stated at checkout.

Order Tracking

Not sure whether your order has shipped yet? Check the real-time status of your order before reaching out about a cancellation — international orders (Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, UK) show customs milestones once they leave our U.S. fulfillment center.

Track Your Order
UK · Ireland Distance-Selling Right

Your 14-Day Right to Cancel (UK & Ireland Customers)

If you are a consumer based in the United Kingdom or Ireland, you have a separate, additional statutory right to cancel your order for any reason, with no explanation required, under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the equivalent EU Consumer Rights Directive rules applied in Ireland (SI 484/2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2022). This right exists on top of, and independently of, our own 30-day return window.

Cancellation Window

You may cancel at any point from the moment you place your order up to 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods. If your order is delivered in multiple parcels, the 14 days runs from receipt of the last item.

How to Cancel

Tell us clearly — an email to info@yourhairandwig.com stating your order number and that you wish to cancel is sufficient. You do not have to use a specific form, but must notify us before the 14-day period expires; you then have a further 14 days to physically send the goods back to us.

What Gets Refunded

We refund the full price you paid for the goods and the standard delivery cost (not any premium/expedited delivery you chose above our standard option), within 14 days of receiving the goods back or evidence you've sent them, whichever is earlier. We may deduct an amount for any diminished value caused by unnecessary handling beyond what's needed to examine the item.

Who Pays Return Shipping

Unless we've agreed to cover it, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods under this cancellation right, consistent with the Regulations, which permit the trader to require the consumer to bear this cost when clearly stated in advance (as it is here).

Hygiene-Sealed Goods Exception

Both the UK Regulations and the Irish/EU rules recognize an exception to the 14-day cancellation right for goods which are sealed for health protection or hygiene purposes and have been unsealed by the consumer after delivery. Because wigs, hairpieces, extensions, and other scalp-contact products in our catalog ship with a protective hygiene liner or seal for exactly this reason, this cancellation right does not apply once that hygiene seal has been broken — consistent with Section 2 and Section 4 above. It continues to apply in full to unopened, hygiene-sealed items and to non-hygiene-sensitive products such as unopened styling tools and accessories.

Jurisdiction-Specific Standards

Consumer Rights Relevant to Returns & Refunds, By Country

Because we ship to six countries, this policy is written to comply with the return- and refund-related consumer protection statutes of each. Where local law sets a higher standard than the terms above, local law governs.

United States
  • FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 435): Governs timely shipment of orders. If we cannot ship within the time stated at checkout, you have the right to cancel and receive a prompt refund.
  • Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 2301–2312): Where a product carries a written warranty, our return process honors the terms disclosed in the product listing and packaging.
  • Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA, 15 U.S.C. § 1693): Eligible refunds return to your original payment method only, within the timeframes described above.
  • Fair Credit Billing Act (15 U.S.C. § 1666): If a refund we owe you is not issued, you retain the right to dispute the charge with your credit card issuer.
  • California Civil Code § 1723 (Refund Policy Disclosure): If a retailer does not conspicuously disclose its refund policy, California customers receive a 7-day right to return for a full refund. We satisfy this by conspicuously publishing this policy.
  • Similar refund-disclosure statutes (e.g., New York General Business Law § 396-u, and comparable rules in other states): Where a state requires conspicuous disclosure of a "no refund" policy or restocking fee to be enforceable, we display those terms clearly at checkout and on this page.
  • Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA, Fla. Stat. § 501.201): As a Florida-registered business, our return and refund practices comply with FDUTPA's prohibition on unfair or deceptive trade practices.
Canada
  • Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario, S.O. 2002, c. 30, Sched. A): Sets disclosure requirements for internet sales agreements, including refund and cancellation terms, which we provide in full through this policy.
  • Statutory internet-contract cancellation right: Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and other provinces give consumers a right to cancel an internet sales agreement without cost (commonly within 7 days of receiving the agreement, extendable up to a year) if a seller fails to provide required pre-contract disclosures. We provide these disclosures in full through this policy, our checkout process, and your order confirmation email.
  • Consumer Protection Act (Quebec, CQLR c. P-40.1), Internet Contract Provisions (Arts. 54.1–54.16): Requires merchants to disclose return and cancellation terms before purchase, which we do here and at checkout for Quebec customers.
  • Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (British Columbia, S.B.C. 2004, c. 2): Provides equivalent distance-sale disclosure and cancellation protections for customers in British Columbia.
  • Sale of Goods Acts (provincial): Provinces including Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta imply conditions of merchantable quality and fitness for purpose into every consumer sale; a faulty or misdescribed item breaches these implied terms regardless of our own return window.
  • Competition Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-34): All pricing, discount, and refund representations made to Canadian customers comply with the Act's prohibition on false or misleading representations.
  • Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA, S.C. 2000, c. 5): Personal information you provide during a return or refund request is handled per PIPEDA. See our Privacy Policy.
Australia
  • Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010) — Consumer Guarantees: Goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for any disclosed purpose, and match their description. These guarantees apply automatically and cannot be excluded, restricted, or limited by this policy, a "final sale" label, or any store sign.
  • Major vs. minor failure remedies: For a major failure (unsafe, significantly different from description, or would not have been bought had the problem been known), you may choose a refund, replacement, or compensation. For a minor failure, we may choose to repair, replace, or refund within a reasonable time.
  • No general change-of-mind right under the ACL: Australian law does not require any business to accept a change-of-mind return; our voluntary 30-day window is offered as a store benefit that exceeds the statutory minimum for non-faulty goods.
  • ACL mandatory consumer guarantee text: "Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure."
  • ACCC enforcement & misleading conduct provisions: Our advertising, pricing, and refund representations to Australian customers comply with the ACL's prohibitions on misleading or deceptive conduct, enforced by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.
Ireland
  • Consumer Rights Act 2022: Goods must conform to the contract — matching their description, fit for purpose, and of the quality a reasonable person would expect. If goods are faulty, you're entitled to a repair or replacement first, then a price reduction or refund if that remedy fails.
  • 30-Day Right to Reject: Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, you may simply cancel a purchase of faulty goods within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, without going through repair or replacement first.
  • European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 484/2013): Gives you the 14-day cooling-off right described in Section 8, subject to the hygiene-sealed goods exception.
  • Consumer Protection Act 2007: Prohibits misleading and aggressive commercial practices; our return and refund communications with Irish customers are written to comply.
  • CCPC oversight & Small Claims Procedure: The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission enforces these rights, and unresolved disputes up to €2,000 can be brought through Ireland's Small Claims Procedure.
New Zealand
  • Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA): Automatically guarantees that goods are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, match their description, and correspond to any sample shown. These guarantees apply by law and cannot be contracted out of for consumer purchases — no "no refunds" sign or policy clause can remove them.
  • Right to reject for substantial failure: Where a fault is substantial or cannot be fixed within a reasonable time, you may reject the goods and choose a refund or replacement, rather than accepting a repair.
  • No general change-of-mind right under the CGA: The CGA covers faulty or not-as-described goods; it does not create a legal right to return goods simply because you changed your mind. Our voluntary 30-day window exceeds this statutory minimum.
  • Fair Trading Act 1986: Prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct and false representations about goods, price, or this returns policy, and is enforced by the Commerce Commission alongside the CGA.
United Kingdom
  • Consumer Rights Act 2015: Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. You have a 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods for a full refund, followed by a tiered right to repair, replacement, and (if that fails) a final right to reject or price reduction.
  • Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013: Gives you the 14-day cooling-off cancellation right described in Section 8, subject to the hygiene-sealed goods exception.
  • Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008: Prohibits misleading actions and omissions in how we describe products, pricing, and this policy.
  • Payment Services Regulations 2017 / chargeback rights: If a refund we owe is not issued, UK customers retain the right to raise a chargeback with their card issuer or, for purchases over £100 on credit, a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

Shipping From the USA to Australia, Ireland, New Zealand & the UK

All orders, including returns, physically ship to and from our fulfillment center in the United States. Return parcels from Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the UK should be marked with an accurate customs description and value to avoid processing delays; we cannot reimburse customs charges we were not made aware of in advance for change-of-mind returns.

Please see our Shipping Policy for country-by-country delivery timelines, carrier information, and details on how customs duties, VAT, and GST are calculated and, where applicable, collected at checkout.
